The third edition of the Louzan1000 took place on March 13, 2016. Starting at the Palace of Lousã and arriving at Trevim, the highest point of the Lousã Mountain, with the participation of about 150 athletes.

The winner was António Catarino of Clube de Triatlo do Fundão with the time of 00:56:27.2, Nuno Goncalves the Jardoeira & Runcrosstrail.com with the time of 00:57:33.5 came second, followed by Gustavo Barandas the ARC with the time of 00:58:46.6.

As for female participation, the victory went to Maria da Glória Serrazina the CRP Ribafria with the time of 01:19:42. followed by Esmeralda Melo the Figueira Kayak Clube and Lígia Pires Coelho the A.R.S.M. with the times of 01:25:07.5 and 01:27:07.5 respectively.
